Forever Frugal Friday

With the holidays just around the corner, it's time to liven up your closest and add a few pieces that will jazz up wherever your headed.

I have been crushing hard on all of the great sequins showing up in my local department stores in anticipation of the holidays.  Those sequins can be tricky little mother f'ers...they have to look just right or you'll end up looking like a cheap hooker and we don't want that now do we?

Classy sequins is where it's at and this Allover Sequin Blazer is just that.  I really want to add this piece to my closet and pair it with some black skinnies and a striped top.  I am even thinking I could find a way to mix it into my office attire.  Simple, classic and a perfect way to dazzle wherever you go.

Forever Frugal Friday

LA received a little rain this week and to be honest I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would.  I actually quite enjoyed dusting off my black boots and pulling out my jackets.  While I love the sunny, hot temperatures it is nice every now and again to experience the crispness that is fall.

I realized this past week that I really need to pick up some essential pieces for fall.  My gf Jaime is always dressed so cute and puts together these ladylike rocker looks that I am always envious of.  So the above is my "frugal" version of looks that I have been seeing around that I would like to wear myself.  A little bit tough, and yet still sweet with those pearls.  I am thinking the above ensemble would be perfect for dinner and cocktails before a concert.

Forever Frugal Friday ~ Sail Away Style

This weekend I am heading into the open seas to celebrate two birthdays (and hopefully lots of sunshine), which inspired my picks above.  A headband to keep my hair in place, a cute white tank to allow a little sun on my shoulders, deconstructed denim shorts and sandals to keep me strapped in should all help make my little adventure in the sun a fabulous one!

Forever Frugal Friday

Can I just mention how excited I am that Spring arrives tomorrow? I am loving that daylight savings is in effect, walking Waldo at night is even more enjoyable now! As I walk I take in all the sights and smells, including the little baby ducklings and the first smells of BBQ in the evening. It is all just so dreamy and perfect...kind of like this Blissful Woven Top from Forever.

It is just what I need to ease into spring. Although I would love to head right into tank tops and sundresses, once the sun goes down, the evening are a little on the chillier side.

I would love to add this top to my wardrobe and pair it with these cute 'Sammy' Roll Hem Stretch Denim shorts from Joe's Jeans.

And to add a little glitz but comfort at the same time, I would sport my fun Gold Glitter TOMS that I received this year as a birthday present (and you know that TOMS donates a pair of shoes to a child in need every time you purchase a pair).

Spring-a-ling-a-ling is here! Woo-hoo!

Forever Frugal Friday ~ Haute Hippie Inspired

If you like this look...

but prefer to spend a lot less, why not pick up this cute Embellished Trapeze Top instead?

At $29.80 it would look darling with some denim leggings, skinny jeans or tucked into a mini skirt of your choosing. Great piece to own without breaking the bank. I call that Haute Forever!

Designer Crush ~ Bilingual

I was browsing my local sale rack at Macy's and came across the most amazing top by a brand I had never heard of. Sadly, the top was not on sale, but that didn't stop me from immediately researching the other goods this clothing company had to offer. Below are some of my favorite styles from Summer 2009 as well as Fall 2009.

This Belle Epoque Print Ruffle Top is casually elegant and perfect for Sunday brunch or a day date out with that cute boy you have been crushing on (husbands count!). The ruffles are delightful!

Another incredible piece that I need to add to my wardrobe is this Beaux Arts Convertible Dress. The colors are fresh and totally ease me into fall. Added bonus, this dress doubles as a hot little number for a night on the town or a cute tunic while you bop over to your local farmers market.

I think part of the reason I love this line is the tropical feel...without being cheesy. This Mosaic Ruffle Deep V Dress will have you keeping the temperatures hot, even if you are freezing cold this fall.

Keeping true with my sudden similar taste in clothing/shoes with Paris Hilton, I would totally rock this Peacock Print Corset Dress to a fabulous luncheon or bridal shower.

Apparently Paris and Rachel Bilson also enjoy this peacock number, and might I add they both look pretty in it (although Paris, you really ought to remember the rule about removing one accessory when you walk out the door).

Last but most definitely not least, I would love to get my little hands on this Ornamental Print Double Empire Dress. The colors have me drooling and wanting to hop on the next flight to Miami.

Becoming Bilingual just got a lot easier and might I say, has never looked better ;)

Forever Frugal Friday: Floral Trend

Happy 1st day of Spring! I am excited to share this pretty Garden Bloom Chiffon Top as the pick of the week. Floral prints are all the rage this spring and sometimes it is a little difficult to pull the look off without looking like a character off Little House on the Prairie.

The key to wearing this look everyday is to keep it simple. This top with a simple white tank and white jeans would look ever so breezy. I love the coral color of the top which I am pretty sure flatters every skin tone.

Go ahead ease into this floral trend, spring has sprung after all!

Forever Frugal Friday: Office to Drinks with the Girls

Here's an outfit for your that cost only $35.40 (plus some heels and a blazer that you already own), that takes you straight from the office to the bar, for drinks with the ladies.

The Jolene Tulip Skirt is a simple black skirt with a little more pizazz to it and sure to flatter all body types. Pair it with the simple Ribbed Macramé Trim Tank and Painted Beads Necklace and you have an outfit that you won't disappoint. Plus all three pieces can be mixed and matched with items you already have hanging in your closet. In hard economic times like these, making whats old, new again is key and simple to do with the right pieces.

Cheers!

Forever Frugal Friday: Satin Frills

Can I get a TGIF please?! I am so ready for the weekend! For this weeks find, I looked no further then my friend Cassie's suitcase. I wanted to wear something fun to work and she pulled out this cute Satin Ruffled Top in red and I was sold! I find that tops that tie behind the back are very uncomfortable when driving so I tied it in the front instead and loosened a few buttons. That's the great thing about this top, you can make it playful or conservative depending on your wants and needs! (Please excuse the camera phone picture). It is available in coral, blue or black all which should satisfy you in one way or another!

Cheers!

Forever Frugal Friday: Mad About Plaid

Maybe it's because I am from Seattle and grew up with the whole "grunge" thing. But when I saw the picture of Christina above wandering the streets in this cute plaid, flannel combo, I just knew I needed to find one for myself.

Lucky for you and me, Forever has this darling Long Plaid Flannel that paired with leggings and boots will help me achieve the look I so desire. Last but not least to make this outfit a complete success is Nirvana, Alice in Chains or Pearl Jam blaring from an I-Pod.

Grunge-a-licious!

Forever Frugal Friday - Cozy Time!!

Coziness to me this weekend equals this Bubble Hem Slub Knit Tunic, Fab Stirrup Leggings (they stay better tucked within my boots), an Organic Cotton Racerback Tank and last but not least this Heart & Coin Necklace.

Perfection for a fall back weekend :)
