Forever Frugal Friday

Last weekend I hit up Forever for some new additions to the closet and walked out with three pieces that I am quite pleased with (including this top I posted about last week - love it!).

I brought home this Retro Swing Dress dress which I would have never given a second glance at had Miss Cassie not passed it under the dressing room door to me.  Turns out I LOVE the simplicity and ease of this dress.  I am planning to sport this little dress with a new camel braided belt from H&M and my Steve Madden Intyce boots and most likely my new fave Unisex Striped Circle Scarf from American Apparel.

I cannot wait for spring to arrive!

I'm Lovin' It

Can we just agree that these BEBAROQUE LOURDES Black Tights are just marvelous?!?  I mean, I am just speechless looking at them.  Birthday wishlist - check.

As if EmersonMade's stuff wasn't already adorable as all get out, she has to go and introduce a new line of soft, cozy, darling t-shirts, like this Paper Valentine Heart Tee that would be just perfect for V-Day.

My GF Christy gifted me the refreshing Satsuma Body Butter this past Christmas and it just puts me in the best of spirits every time I slather it on.  Added bonus, I am pretty sure it curbs my appetite all whilst giving me super soft skin.  SWEET SATSUMA!

I have shorty stubby legs that make finding tall boots close to impossible. Call it a Christmas miracle but my these Steven by Steve Madden 'Mary' Distressed Leather Boot not only fit my calves but also they are just the right high and don't dig midway into my kneecap.  Plus the color is just awesome and goes with just about anything at all.  The zipper down the back is my absolute favorite feature.

I have always loved my girl Cameron Diaz as she reminds me of my bestie Mrs. R amd she absolutely killed it at the Green Hornet premiere last night.  The shoes, the bold red dress, the makeup the hair - perfection.  Do we think that prego Rachel Zoe picked this entire look out for her?

AND ONE I'M NOT LOVIN' SO MUCH...

Before I departed for Seattle I opted to get a mani/pedi before my Chocolate Sun and chose the festive and fun OPI Nail Lacquer, Glow Up Already, 0.5-Fluid Ounce for my nails.  I loved the results (similar to the picture above) and couldn't wait to sport it around town.  Only problem was I woke up the next day missing the polish on my pinky and then through out the rest of the day the entire nail polish came off leaving me with 4 fingers polished.

NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!

I am not sure if I should be pissed at the nail polish or the manicurist.  Lesson learned that glitter alone doesn't work for my nails and should only be used in conjunction with a solid nail polish color.

What are you loving so far in 2011?

I'm Lovin' It

The packaging of all the Honore des Pres perfumes.  I am head over heels in love with the Vamp A NY scent and have included it in my Holiday Wishlist.  The scent is a little bit sweetart meets a little bit spicy.  Pure goodness really.

These Loeffler Randall Back Zip Rubber Rain Boots.  I love the color and really love the edgy zipper in the back.  They are also slightly more affordable than the leather pair I have been eyeing.

Those crazy ass bizzos over on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  I have my favorites (Lisa for sure) and then there are those that are just wacky (Taylor and Camille).  I am loving that they let us into their lives.

These beautiful, sparkly, ultra lovely frocks from Elie Saab's Spring 2011 RTW Collection.  Oh what I wouldn't do to one of those dresses.

Enjoying the Starbucks Christmas Blend in my "Red Cup" as I continue to wade through The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The Cranberry Bliss Bars are back.  Trouble.  Trouble. Trouble.

Desperately Seeking Sully ~ Christian Siriano for Payless

This past Sunday while watching the Red Carpet coverage on E!, they featured a little clip on one of my favorite Project Runway alums Christian Siriano.  The clip was all about his affordable shoe and accessory line at Payless Shoes.  Well I had to check out the collection myself and let me just say that his goods do not disappoint.

I absolutely, positively must own these Parisienne Exotic Platform Pumps.  My black work heels are about ready to keel over and die (just noticed a large chunk of leather missing off the back - how did that happen?) and I am looking for a new affordable pair and these puppies seem to fit the bill.

Last year these Jimmy Choo boots were all the rage.  Unfortunately they were so not in my price range.  Well wouldn't you just know that Mr. Siriano's Storm Rain Boots are the perfect alternative?  I really would love to own these guys for Christmas in Seattle and walking Waldo this fall.

Okay, so I am pretty much obsessed with his use of "snakeskin" for his shoes and accessories but I really am loving this Mena Small Clutch as well.  It looks very luxurious and really transitions into fall and will the perfect accessory for any outfit.

Mr. Siriano did Payless proud with this collection, which no doubt is sure to sell out.  Saving money and looking fabulous has never been so fierce.

Forever Frugal Friday

A few months back I dusted off my cowboy boots that had been sitting in the back of my closet for about 4 years and wore them out to Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest and Folk Festival.

I was so comfy and cozy in my boots and totally sad that I forgotten to wear them all these years.  I picked up these guys at a vintage store in Redondo Beach for about $35.  When I went to Nashville 2 years ago I realized what a deal I had gotten as authentic "Cowboy Boots" can usually run you $300+.

Fret not!  If you want to sport some boots this fall or end of summer, Forever has just the pair for you!

These Distressed Cowgirl Boots will only set you back $32.80 and look just as good as those other ones.  I love the boots with skinny jeans, leggings or dresses.  Plus if you scuff them up and get them a little dirty it just  makes them look that much better.

Yee-haw!

Forever Frugal Friday : Bootie Edition

I have been very hesitant to try this bootie trend as I pictured it would just make my legs look even stubbier. However, I watched an episode of Oprah this week and they put a 50+ year old woman in a pair of booties with tights and she looked adorable! Which got me thinking....if she can do it, surely I can take a chance?

Enter Urban Studded Bootie from Forever. Sassy, flashy and just the right price. I am thinking with some black tights, a black skirt, a simple white tee and a bold clustered pearl necklace, I may just have the perfect going out outfit for the weekend ahead.

So go ahead.... "Bootie, Bootie, Bootie, Bootie, Rockin' Everywhere"

These Boots Are Made For Walking...

This past weekend in DC I lived in boots. I wore them with tights, Always Skinny Jeans and tights. Let's face it, boots go with just about anything and add a little edge/sass to whatever your outfit entails. Below are some of my favorite boots for fall that will carry you right into winter as well as spring!

I just love the color of these Cinty Mid-Heel Downtown Boots. They would pretty much go with about anything and any color you wear. Plus the heel isn't too high so they are pretty practical for tromping around town in.

I have had my eyes on these DV Wendall Boots for over a year now, and am thinking the odds of them joining my closet are pretty great considering they are $109 at Nordies right now. Love them!

A sexy cognac boot is a little tough to find these days. That is why I was ecstatic to find these Eliza Slouch High Heel Boots from Banana. Hot heel, yummy color...has me feeling all warm inside.

I wasn't aware that Fossil was making boots for women but, can I just say thank goodness they are! These Allison Boots are equally sporty and sexy. The wooden heel makes them a little more casual, but the black color is sexy dressy.

If you're a little more country, then these Ralph Lauren Vina Boots are sure to get your spurs a turnin'. All you need are jeans and a simple white tee, to complete this country look.

Of course the boot that's all the rage and I seem to see on everyone is the Steven by Steve Madden 'Intyce' Boot. Most of the girls I know have them in the cognac color, but I quite enjoyed these boots in grey as well. Sadly, these boots hit me mid-knee or else they'd be mine!

Lastly, for those with longer stems and the ability to rock and own over the knee boots, may I present the Guess Rumala Knee High Boots for your consideration? Yes over the knee boots are not for everyone, but let me say when my girl Jaime rocks them, she rocks them hard! And you can too if you like!

So go on girls...pick the pair for you, throw them on and start walking!

Mrs Smith & Mrs R Love Red Hunters

This weeks Hunter Boot story is inspired by the picture above.

Hunter Boots are so fantastic, that you can wear them with nothing but a white button down shirt in a pile of rubbish and still look stylish. Mrs. R shared with us on our trip to Santa Barbara, that she has just purchased due to the movie Mr & Mrs Smith, red Hunter Boots in Scotland.

I love the red boots because they are bold, and fiery. These boots in red make a statement and allow you to stand out amongst all the other plain and safe wellies.

The proof is in the pudding! Look how cute Mrs. R looks in her red Hunters! Who knows...there may just be a sequel to the movie...

On the Hunt for Hunters....

Since June Gloom is still here (although the sun is fighting back everyday), I decided every Monday to share another fabulous pair of Hunter Boots to help me see the positive of the grey and make me look forward to sunny skies in July!

Ever since I saw this photo of Uma Thurman (which currently resides on my wall at work) in the UK Instyle Magazine, I have wanted these boots in beige.

I love the stripe down the back and that they are little more beachy and casual than the regular Hunters. And seriously...how cute do they look with what Uma has on? Also I love her quote, "Style is being comfortable in your clothes and your own skin". I'll take that entire outfit please and thank you.

June Gloom Acceptable

I awoke this morning to find that the first of June in LA has brought not only a month long of grey skies, but also some drizzle. If I have to endure this drizzle, I would like to do it in style. These Jimmy Choo Hunter Wellies are AMAZING and would definitely help get me out of my morning lack of sunshine rut...I mean, what's not to love?
