On the Hunt for Hunters....

Since June Gloom is still here (although the sun is fighting back everyday), I decided every Monday to share another fabulous pair of Hunter Boots to help me see the positive of the grey and make me look forward to sunny skies in July!

Ever since I saw this photo of Uma Thurman (which currently resides on my wall at work) in the UK Instyle Magazine, I have wanted these boots in beige.

I love the stripe down the back and that they are little more beachy and casual than the regular Hunters. And seriously...how cute do they look with what Uma has on? Also I love her quote, "Style is being comfortable in your clothes and your own skin". I'll take that entire outfit please and thank you.

Song Of The Week: Blame Me

I was very fortunate to hear the sounds of Samantha Mollen last week at an intimate music session at my girlfriend Ronit's work. This cute little blondie from San Diego has a beautiful voice that is remiscent of Gwen Stefani and Jewel. Don't be fooled by how cute she is. Her voice and lyrics are a bit haunting but have had me listening to the CD over and over again. I chose Blame Me, but Royalty is another one of my faves. Her songs have been featured on Smallville and I have a feeling you will be hearing more of her in the months to come.

Happy {Relaxing} Weekend

I cannot believe May has come and gone already! With something planned every weekend, I am looking forward to having nothing on the calendar for the weekend ahead. Hope your weekend is relaxing as well! Cheers!

Forever Frugal Friday

I am loving this gladiator, studded sandal look that is all over these days, and yet I am quite cautious to try this trend. The shoes never look quite right on my foot for the price.

But these Geyla Ankle Wrap Sandals may just have me singing another tune! Not only do I enjoy the grey better than the taupe, at a price difference of approximately $37, I might be definitely willing to try this trend.

Oscar de la Renta - Resort 2009

I have always really enjoyed Resort collections from designers, because I think the clothes are a little more practical and they remind me of lovely vacations to be had.

I have only browsed a few collections so far, but Oscar de la Renta so far is my favorite. The bright colors, delicious ruffles, and charmingly sweet (yet sophisticated) dresses have me wishing I could withdraw funds from my 401K just to own one of these pretty dresses...

{via}

I love the combo of the rich aqua and bright green. I although I cannot own this outfit, I will try to pair these two colors together sometime this summer.

{via}

The unexpected combo of bright blue under this red lace overlay is so gorgeous. This dress would be great to wear to a 4th of July fancy bash, as it is fresh and vibrant.

{via}

Nothing says summer more than a clean, crisp, classy white dress. Perfect for the Hampton's, Palm Springs, or any other destination you sneak off to this summer.

{via}

This dress just made me swoon. The color, the tiered ruffles, the fabric, the print - EVERYTHING. A statement piece sure to have every ones heads turning and looking at you. A girl can dream.....

{via}

The dress is just stunning...I mean I am almost speechless because of its beauty. This dress is one that deserves to be photographed and admired. The loveliest shade of coral, the details at the bottom of the dress, the bodice, are all just perfection. It reminds me of something that Scarlett O'Hara would have worn in the summer months in Savannah...I would prefer to wear it to the Cannes Festival.

Do you have any favorite collections that I just have to see? Let me know! It is a nice way to escape away from my current destination.

Flirty Girl + Surfer Girl = Embarrassed Girl

One of the things I love about Time Warner Cable is their great selection of On Demand Exercise TV programs. They offer quite the variety of workouts and rotate them in and out every month so you are not bored and stuck doing the same thing over and over again.

Last night turned out to be a lovely day so I opted to take Waldo on an extra long walk for my cardio instead of the usual gym (bike, elliptical, treadmill). When I returned home, I selected the category “Sexy for Summer” and chose Flirty Girl Fitness: Booty Beat. I had seen the infomercials numerous times and was excited I could do this 10 minute workout for free.

Good thing it was free, because if I had paid for these videos, they would have been shipped back immediately. I like to think that I am pretty coordinated, but doing this video in the private of my home in front of Waldo, had be blushing in embarrassment. It reminded me of when you’ve had a few too many to drink and think you are all of a sudden a good dancer. Except that I was sober and felt so weird…I could see how this might be fun in a class full of people but I think I will pass from here on out.

The next video I tried was the Surfer Girl Workout. I mean when the girls look like this, the workout has got to be worth it right??

Wrong...it was as if I was performing a workout hosted by Paris Hilton and Audrina Patridge with their monotone voices, and fake enthusiasm. The arm work out was bizarre, with weird movements that made me feel like I was flailing about and possibly dislocating my shoulder in the process. I stuck with it till the end because I hate to quit, but seriously, besides the inspiration of their smoking bods, this video will not be visited again by me any time soon.

Luckily, my girl Cindy Whitmarsh had two videos to choose from that were both excellent! I did the Tank Top Arms Upper Body workout and the Bikini Ready and I was sweating and feeling each exercise I performed. Cindy is motivational without being annoying, her moves are functional and realistic and she moves from one set to the next in perfect timing. I always try to incorporate at least one of her videos into my fitness regimen

What about you? Do you have any fitness videos you love and want to share? Any to avoid? With summer just around the corner, this girl needs all the tips she can get!

Designer Crush: Amanda Uprichard

I was first introduced to the incredible designs of Amanda Uprichard by my dear friend Jaime. Jaime showed up wearing this excellent dress below (in aqua) and I knew that Amanda Uprichard would hold a special place in my heart from then on.

I am so lucky because we are close to the same size and she is an excellent sharer.

Me, Jaime & Mrs. R in Miami

Jaime is also the lucky owner of this fabulous Amanda Uprichard Penny dress in cobalt.

Although it has to be said that she looks a hell of a lot cuter in it then this mannequin.

I am thinking I should take one for the team and add this darling Peplum Racer Back Dress to the collection in magenta.

All of her dresses are made of a 100% silk which can be tricky to clean (unless you have a wonderful dry cleaner), but feel oh so fabulous. I love her use of bright, bold colors and the simplicity of the dresses. They are definitely on the pricier side, but with careful garment care, they are sure to be pieces that you can keep in your closest regardless of the fashion trends of the seasons.
