Gift Guide #4 ~ Nifty Gifty under Fifty

I am dying to own this luxurious Belmacz Glow Lip Balm and I am pretty sure any other gal in your life would too.  It has a pretty color with actual flakes of gold that blend in to make the gloss a shimmery goodness.

For the hostess with the mostess or the party that needs to get started, the 80's Table Topics will make sure there aren't any crickets present at any future parties.

The Capri Blue Mercury Glass Jar not only looks gorgeous when lit but also fills the home with a delectable scent.

For your accident prone friend, why not help her cover her boo-boos with these cute Cynthia Rowley Band Aids Dress Ups?  My fave is the sequin one, I may have to fake an injury just to use one.

I have been dying to try the EOS lip balm and what better way to introduce yourself or someone you love than this EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere Holiday Bag

Story of my life.  I need this f*cking bag to use at the grocery store.  Also perfect for the eco-friendly cute boy you have been stumped on what to buy.

Smelling good is never a bad thing, and options are even better.  The Juicy Couture Spray Pen Set is perfect for the gal on the go or to split up and pass along to your coworkers.

I love the message associated with this Pearls of Love Dogeared Necklace.  Whoever you give it to is sure to feel incredibly loved.

Another eco-friendly and incredibly stylish gift for the go getter is this Red Jonathon Adler To Go Holiday Mug .  Throw in a little Sbux gift card and you are sure to be a favorite.

Last year my gf Christy gifted me this awesome Lash Stash set from Sephora.  They are all travel size mascaras that you can try before you buy.  And let me just say that the danger is finding numerous mascaras that you not only like but LOVE!  The Hourglass and Laura Mercier were my faves in last years batch.  Perfect for the girl who is always up for trying something new.

Song Of The Week: I'll Be Home For Christmas

Whenever I think of holiday music, first name that comes to mind is Bing Crosby.  I love his classic voice and the thought that his music is still being enjoyed by people of all ages.  I'll Be Home For Christmas on Thursday the 23rd, flying into Seattle and am trying to stay motivated for this week of work!  I am looking forward to seeing family and friends and introducing a special friend to all those that I love.

Are you heading home for the holidays?  If so where do you call home?  Are you starting a new Christmas tradition this year?

Wherever you are spending the holidays, hope you are spending it with the ones you love!

Happy {Holiday} Weekend!

Happy last weekend to finish all your holiday shopping!  This weekend I will be doing just that and also a little dining and catching up with old friends.

Don't forget to enter the Gap Denim Giveaway.  I will be drawing a winner on Monday afternoon!

Cheers and Good Luck!

Forever Frual Friday ~ Black Swan

I saw Black Swan the other night and let me just say that it is quite a movie.  At times it was beautiful, other times funny, and some times unwatchable.  Natalie Portman is outstanding in this movie and absolutely breathtaking at times and frightening at others.  I would highly recommend seeing this movie as it will keep you thinking way after the movie has ended.  The music was spectacular, the dancing lovely, and the costumes were beautiful.  It made me want to run out and purchase a tutu!

So I decided to dedicate this weeks frugal find to Natalie Portman's very different characters of the Black Swan and the White Swan.

You choose....

Are you dark and cunning like the Black Swan or light and innocent like the White Swan?

Also have you seen the movie yet?  Are you planning to see it?  What did you think?!

Desperately Seeking Sully ~ Holiday Movies

Is anyone else is utter disbelief that Christmas is just ten days away?! What in the world! It has snuck up so fast and I have barely even started my holiday shopping.  The only thing I have started this holiday season is watching my favorite holiday movies.  My list includes:

Oh my gosh, I am so in love with this movie!  Love Actually is a movie that I can watch anytime of the year, but is especially special to me at Christmastime.  Perhaps it is Bill Nighy singing "Christmas Is All Around", Hugh Grant dancing or Colin Firth's incredibly romantic story line, I am just head over heels for it.  It was the first holiday flick I watched this season.

I remember being 10 years old and getting to go to a special screening of this movie and thinking that Kevin McCallister was so cool and quite a genius.  The gals and I watched Home Alone this past weekend and still laughed a lot, quoted almost the entire movie and then argued that many of the injuries the "Wet Bandits" received could have easily killed them.  Still so enjoyable!

Will Ferrel in tights dressed as an Elf (Infinifilm Edition).  Could this movie be any funnier.  I just adore Zooey Deschanel in this movie (although she looks so different with blonde hair) and really love the message this movie spreads.  Plus who hasn't quoted Will, "SANTA! OH MY GOD! SANTA'S COMING! I KNOW HIM! I KNOW HIM!" Kills me every time.

Another movie that reminds me of my childhood, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Special Edition).  Whether it was the fiasco with the Christmas lights on the house, the cat food in the jello, or Clark's boss tied up in a big red bow, this is another movie I cannot get enough of.  In fact I think I will be watching this movie tonight.

White Christmas (Anniversary Edition) is another of one my favorite holiday films thanks to my Mom.  We always had a tradition of watching this movie the day after Thanksgiving with hot apple cider.  We would sing along to all of the songs and comment about how tiny Vera-Ellen was.  Full of amazing dance routines and one of the best songs ever - "Sisters".  This is a classic that everyone really should watch.

I remember when Bad Santa came out I wasn't quite sure what I thought of this film.  Once I saw it, I realized I quite enjoyed it.  It is so inappropriate and yet somehow it really has a great holiday spirit to it in the end.  If you like dry humor and raunchy comedies, I would tell you to give this film a shot, Billy Bob was excellent in it and even nominated for a Golden Globe for best actor.

Last night I watched Christmas Cupid, ABC Family's modern spin on A Christmas Carol.  Now it was totally cheesy and everything you would expect from a made for TV holiday movie, but I gotta admit I found it rather entertaining.

What are your favorite holiday movies?  What movie do you watch every year without fail?  What movie do you hate?

Ho, Ho, Ho!

This Jacquie Waif Small Bezel Ring is dainty and oh so perfect.

This Unity Links Necklace is a fabulous statement piece.

I love the turquoise and bold gold rose of this necklace.  It would look great with just about anything.

I have been eyeing this Marc Jacobs Katie Bracelet for some time now and just saw it in person on my gf Christy and it oh so wonderful.  A serious stable for any lady.

I just heard Karma Police on the radio this morning and then spied this Karma Necklace by Portobello and thing who ever gives this necklace is sure to receive good Karma for at least a year.

A dazzling pair of Juicy Couture Princess Studs  for your favorite snow princess.

Last but not least, the Kate Spade This Year I Will Bracelet (which was worn by Lea Michelle I guess and now seems to be sold out)   The perfect gift for the year ahead.  With cute sayings inscribed.  My favorite: Fall Head Over Heels.

Song Of The Week: I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm

Yesterday it was 82 degrees here in California. Not really the most appropriate weather for this season, but it was kind of fun to wear a sundress in December all while enjoying the holiday music around me.

I LOVE classic holiday music! What I love even more is when old holiday classics are remixed to give them a new feel. I own the entire Christmas Remixed - Holiday Classics Re-Grooved and it is one of my absolute favorite albums to listen to.  This album is perfect for any holiday party, and my favorite on the album is Kay Starr's I'Ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm (Stuhr Remix).  I believe it was used in a Target commercial a few years back, but the first time I heard it was in Banana Republic and they were selling the CD so I bought it.

Classic holiday music + Remix + Friends + Family + Cocktails = Perfect Holiday Cheer!

Happy {Party} Weekend

One year ago this weekend, 20 of us girls gathered in the small town of Solvang and tore it up celebrating Avery's 30th and I can honestly say it was one of the best weekends of my life.  I am so wishing we were all together again this weekend to live it up again.  At least I have this (brief and dark) video of us dancing in the middle of the streets and storefronts of Solvang to Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You (Original Version).

This weekend is full of celebrating...tonight we are off to Red O  to celebrate the roomies birthday.  Tomorrow brunch at NineThirty for Kare's 30th, a cocktail party at my bosses house, a LSAT celebration party, a bake-off and holiday party.  I foresee lots of water, Aleve and holiday cheer in my future.

May your weekend be merry and bright!!

XOXO

Forever Frugal Friday

Dear Santa,

I have been mostly good this year and would love to see the following items underneath the tree in two weeks pretty please....

Plain and simple, I want this dress.  I enjoy the cute ruffled sleeves, the cinched in waist and the simple grey.  A winning combination that I could find numerous occasions to wear it to.

I would also enjoy this lovely Creamy Multi Chain Necklace.  Not to wear with the dress above, but I am sure I can find loads of other outfits to wear it with.

Please and Thank You.

XOXO,
Lyndsy

Gift Guide #2 ~ Give the Gift of Gap & A Giveaway!

Having a hard time finding a present for your brother, niece, co-worker, girlfriend, or self?  I'm pretty sure if you head over to the Gap you will find something for all of the above.  They always have a great selection, affordable prices and incredible savings.  Below are some items I have on my Gap wish list...

Yes I am obsessed with sparkles.  This skirt is totally affordable for under $50 and I can't imagine any girl who wouldn't love to shine in this baby come NYE.

Perfect for that secret Santa gift, this Glitter Wallet will keep your favorite ladies receipts and cards organized but she will look oh so stylish doing so.

Since I was a wee little gal I have been obsessed with pink, and add a little sparkle and you pretty much can't go wrong in my eyes.  Perfect for your mom or sister, this Sequin Wrap Cardi adds a little glamour to whatever she may choose to wear.  In person it is oh so cozy and oh so pretty.

Currently on hold at the Gap in the Grove, these Black Wash Stirrup Legging Jeans are the perfect pant for the holidays as well as boots.  Best part for me is that they are available in three different lengths since no two gals are made the same.  The look of a jean with the feel of leggings, what a wonderful holiday treat.

If you know of a gal with poor circulation in her feet like me, these Faux Fur Slipper Booties are just what the doctor ordered.  I am seriously contemplating buying these for myself as my feet are always SO cold at my parents house during the holidays.  Plus I love the little pom-poms on the side.  Cute and fun and perfect for snuggling by a fire.

'Tis the season to give back and by purchasing this FEED USA Canvas Tote  you aren't only being green, but you are also donating $5 towards food education in schools and America.  Perfect for the gal who always loves to give.

Last but not least, a wicked IKAT Scarf is sure to please just about any lady in your life - perhaps even a design friend who you are just stumped about what to buy.  The colors and finish on this scarf are quality and will go with just about anything.

And guess what my lovely readers....the peeps over at Brand About Town  and the Gap have graciously donated a pair of jeans to one lucky YBB reader.

  • All you have to do is pop over to the Gap, pick out the two items you are wishing for this holiday season.
  • Leave a comment here at YBB sharing your wish lish items.  (Be sure to leave an email address that you can be contacted at should you win)
  • I will select a random winner on Monday, December 20th at 4:00 PM PST.
  • This giveaway is open to US Residents only.
Happy Wish List Shopping and Good Luck!
