I am in desperate need of some new "lady clothes" for work. I have been trying to mix up what I already have with different scarves, jewelry or shoes which is great and all, but I really need to add some new pieces. I would very much like to add this Satin Rose Print Dress into my collection. I realize that it is a bit sheer, but that could easily be fixed with a simple slip. I love the color and the little peep hole in the back. Great as is with some pumps, or I could also easily add a cardigan and my own skinny black belt and boots to fancy it up.

Let's Go Rhinos!
Our softball season started off a little bit shaky, but wouldn't you know it....we pulled it together and made it to the playoffs! Tonight at 7:45 we take on a team that we have lost to already twice, but third times a charm right (knock on wood)? I always have such a good time with my team and I am crossing my fingers that we win tonight to play again at 9:00 against the undefeated Hard Hats.
Even if we don't win our league championship, we did win our own team clover at Tom Bergins!
These little clovers are all over the ceiling of the bar and we are honored to be featured!
GO RHINOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Word Up Wednesday
I don't care how overplayed that song is, I still love it and the message it sends.

Easy A
This past Sunday I headed down to Culver City with some gf's to see the film Easy A. Even though LSpry and I were almost kicked out of the theater for sneaking in iced teas (which we ended up having to dump in the trash - damn theater security), the film did not disappoint!
First thing. Thank goodness for one Miss Emma Stone. She is stellar as the female lead Olive Penderghast, a witty high school student who pretends to be slutty to help misfits around her school fit in and be cool, all the while making her an outcast. I won't give too much of the movie away, but I will tell you it has some great 80's teen comedy references, and a fantastic cast.
I was also super excited to see this film since Miss Amanda Bynes is in it. I have loved Amanda since She's the Man and am happy that she has come out of her self imposed "retirement from acting". She is perfect as Olive's antagonist Marianne. Snippity and composed and perfectly bitchy. Loved it!
I also really enjoyed (however unbelievable they were) Olive's parents, played by Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci. They were present without being overbearing, but supportive and fun. What I was a little surprised by was how sexy I found Stanley Tucci in this film. He just looked super handsome? Am I alone? Anyone else find him attractive in this film? Also Penn Badgley wasn't too hard on the eyes.
If you love teen comedies and have missed a strong female lead since Lindsay Lohan in Mean Girls, I really think you should get out and see Easy A. The movie will only take up 92 minutes of your life (if anything I wanted it to go longer), and most of it you will spend laughing or smiling.
In the event you have never heard of this movie, check out the trailer below and then find a movie time at a theater closest to you. Just make sure you don't try to sneak in a ice cold bevie.

Song Of The Week: Little Lion Man
Mumford & Sons - 'Little lion man' from Ben Magahy on Vimeo.
Two weekends ago I heard this great song and made a mental note to download the song on Monday. Well wouldn't you just know that Monday came along and I had totally forgotten about the song, much less the name of the band.
Luckily, Live.to.the.point.of.tears (who is recently engaged - congratulations!) posted this pretty little quote:
...And it all came racing back to me.
"Little Lion Man" by Mumford & Sons was the song that I had fallen in love with at first listen. It's a little bit folky, a little bit angry and 100% good. The video is very simple, but I love the mood the lighting creates and also how it showcases the bands skills with instruments. These guys have incredible voices and I am looking forward to listening to the entire album.

Happy {Go COUGS!} Weekend
Well the first full week of fall in LA has been anything but "fall like" and between me and you...I am totally alright with it. The weather here has been hot, sunny and fan-TASTIC (said in my best Russell from True Blood voice), and I love, love, love it. The sunsets have been amazing and I have quite enjoyed walking Waldo in the warm evening air.
This weekend my Cougs take on those Bruins and I am not sure what the outcome will be.... but as always - "GO COUGS!". Planning to soak up the last few rays of sunshine this weekend by the pool, watch some college football, enjoy some adult beverages with friends, and check out episode 2 of Dexter.
May your first weekend of October be lovely and keep you warm! XOXO
Forever Frugal Friday
I am a firm believer that you are either a "bag girl" or a "shoe girl". I myself have always been a "shoe girl", don't get me wrong I really appreciate a beautiful bag, but I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I browsed the handbag section at Bloomies, or Nordies. However, the shoe department sees my face all too often. That being said I would rather save my pennies and splurge on some fabulous shoes then go all out on a purse. Which is why this Slouchy Pebbled Leatherette Tote caught my eye.
For under $40 I can easily add a fashionable and functional tote to my collection and still have some change left towards these shoes (ha!). I love the brown color that would go with just about anything and it also includes a across the body strap, perfect for traveling or hitting up the local farmers market. In any event, this bag rules and is perfect for fall!
Which type of girl are you? A "shoe girl" or a "purse/bag girl"?
