Fashion Advice
Fashion Advice!
One of the great things about Nordstrom's website? The Thread! Simply love it! It provides me with all the updateses and news I need to keep in pace with the ever-changing fashion world. Best of all, there is always a link for fashion advice. And this month, it's all about summer.
What to do? "You should be focused on the fabulous weather, (not fretting about what to wear)." So true. Why worry about what to wear when you can practically put on anything and enjoy the fantastic sun that's ready to touch our skins and brighten our day?

How to dress 10 pounds thinner?
Start with the butt - Your bottom and hips will always look thinner when you are dressed in a solid color and it doesn't even have to be black it can be a beautiful incandescent hot pink if you like but solids tend to slim where other patterns don't. Now a lot of us don't go around wearing patterned pants but a lot of us wear patterned dresses and skirts - so be warned.De-emphasize your waist - If you are trying to deemphasize your waist and or your middle then avoid crop jackets because they break up your natural lines rather then help you create long, lean lines.
Smaller bust - if you are small busted then try for some wrap shirts, which will give you the illusion of a bigger bust and smaller waist.
Big hips - go for some flat front pants, which are always a winner.
Big hips - don't be afraid to go for a black pencil skirt with black hose. It will make your hips do a disappearing act.
Big Bust - avoid lighter colors on top for they will over-emphasize your bust size and go for a geometric-shaped top with a slim pant and you will have a more balanced look.
Trying to play up your waist - try a slightly raised waist that tends to make the torso look narrower and a flared skirt which also makes the waist look narrower.
Unless you are a super model avoid horizontal stripes.
Only buy a pleated skirt if the pleats are stitched down and don't bunch up at the waist adding thickness.

Top 3 Fashion mistakes
Top 3 Fashion mistakes
- Avoid oversized clothing. Clothes should fit - they shouldn't be used just to cover up. You can be fully covered and still look elegant. Avoid the huge t-shirt that reaches your knees, especially paired with baggy trousers. if you like the oversized look, try long, flowing kurtas over slim trousers. Balance it out, or you'll just drown yourself out.
- Tone down pink make up. We've got naturally warm skin. The undertone is yellow, which can be both sallow (ugh!) or sunny (yay!). When we use pink In abundance on the yellow, It looks sallow.
- Choose your Shoes. Yes, comfort is super important. But a little style never hurt anyone. When picking shoes, try to pick ones that reflect both your mood and the clothes you're wearing. That doesn't mean the same color, it means the style. Delicate and strappy for feminine, floral outfits, clunky platforms for eye-catching, hip-hop days, comfortable sandals for the beach, sneakers for running. The options for women are endless, so use them!
EyesEyeshadow: The most important factor in deciding what colour and how to apply eye shadow is to take into consideration the amount of fold you have above the eye lid. If you possess a fair amount of fold, then you can boldly apply dramatic colors such as black, deep purple, deep turquoise (really stunning) and navy blue for night time wear and utilize the technique of multilayering colors. Colors that are especially flattering for daytime wear are bronze and light colours applied close to the lashes while more intense colors are blended on top. |

How To Keep Shoes From Stinking
How To Keep Shoes From Stinking
May it be a university student, a banker or an employ at a big company he/she would have to wear shoes every morning till the end of the tiring day. By the end of the day the shoes and the feet are exhausted and tired, besides that there is a smell in the shoes that last for too long. It is important to get rid of this smell so that the next time you wear them you feet feel fresh and the stink is no more there.
Human nature dictates that people sweat. And human nature also dictates that, generally speaking, men sweat more than women. Nothing is more frustrating than dress shoes that absolutely stink, which tends to put a damper on an otherwise fine appearance. Here are some tips to avoid just that. Some simple and easy to follow steps to avoid the shoes from stinking.
Wash your feet and change your socks at lunch. Even if you take several precautions, many men's dressshoes are still quite hot because they are mostly made of leather, making a mini leather oven for your foot. By washing your feet and changing your socks, you are essentially giving your feet a fresh start midway through the day.
Shave any hair on your feet. Hair holds the moisture. By shaving the hair, the moisture from the sweat will be absorbed by the socks and minimize the smell of your shoes. Avoid wearing the same pair of dress shoes on back to back days. Instead, set them outside where they can bask in the rays of the sun. The sun will help eliminate the smell and stop your shoes from stinking.
One of the most interesting of ways to get rid of the stink is to keep unused tea bags in the shoes over night and use some fragrances talcum powder in the shoe to get a fresh fragrance.
Besides that relax your feet by washing them with warm water and make sure you dry them properly, especially between the toes.

Latest fashion secret
MATTHEW WILLIAMSON'S business success rests upon a balance of two key factors - creativity and a strong business mind.
"I wouldn't be where I am today without Joseph[Velosa, the label's ceo]," said the designer at a Harvard Business School discussion last night. "I have always been clear about what I wanted to do and who I wanted to dress. However, you need that business sense to help direct your talent. Because at the end of the day you are selling clothes and that is the reality which we live in."
The talk, titled Building A Fashion Brand, featured panelists including British Fashion Council ceo Caroline Rush, chairman Harold Tillman, as well as Matthew Williamson, and his ceo Joseph Velosa.
"You have to start with a mission statement and be clear what you are trying to sell and who you are trying to sell it to," explained Velosa.
"In order to have a successful fashion brand, you obviously need a creative talent but also a business mind to drive that creativity," said Tillman. "Matthew has Joseph to fuel his creative ability to help steer their business in the right direction."
As the evening continued, Caroline Rush spoke about the current economic environment and its negative effect on fashion.
"The lack of financial backing is an obstacle," she admitted. "We [the BFC] are continuing to lobby with the government, while trying to keep the funding streams open for commercial sponsorship. This way, young designers can continue to show and thrive at London Fashion Week."
