I am happy to share I Spry's summer essentials with all of you.  Spry is one of my fave friends who is always willing to help you out, bow out of arts and crafts time and enjoy a slice of meatloaf with your current man friend.  She is also gorgeous, generous and fun as all get out.  She may not ever upload photos that she captures and could afford to update her blog a little bit more often but I consider myself blessed she took the time to respond and contribute to YBB as this girl is a baller, shot caller and a busy bee in her career.  Without further ado I present to you LSpry's summer must haves!

Summer has finally arrived!  Anyone else so pumped for the long summer days, and warm summer nights?  June 21st is one of my favorite days of the year because it instantly lifts my spirits and reminds me of being a kid. 

This summer I am the most excited for...

lots and lots of watermelon.  watermelon juice, watermelon beer, watermelon water, watermelon popsicles, watermelon itself.  yum.

Scenes From The Weekend

Enjoyed a (strong) glass of Abey Leffe Blonde out of a Chimay glass at The Local Peasant in Sherman Oaks for my dear friend Ron Weasley (AKA James) birthday. 

Note to Self: Must return to The Local Peasant soon and eat an actual meal.  The food looked incredible!  Deviled eggs with bacon?!? Sign me up!

Congratulated an old pal at Village Idiot for Sunday brunch.

Enjoyed the sunny and upper 70's degree weather outside with B on Melrose.

Note to Self: Work on a more natural looking pose for photos.

Tried out a new *healthy* recipe courtesy of the Trader Joe's Cookbook - Portobello (also seen it spelled Portabella) Mushroom Polenta Stacks.

Wino Wednesday: Beer Me!!

I haven't really tried any new wines lately and instead have been sticking to my safe favorites.... so I thought I would share a fantastic seasonal beer just in time for the holidays!

Samuel Adams Winter Lager is a dark and hearty beer. I am not generally a fan of dark, amber beers at all. However, I tried this tasty treat a few years back and I always pick up at least a 6 pack every holiday season. It is dark without being heavy, but I must warn you that the alcohol content is higher on this beer then I am used to, and they will catch up to you fast.

So, mix it up and try this one out, it won't be around for long and once it's gone, you will have to wait until next year to enjoy it again!
