Desperately Seeking Sully ~ Alexander McQueen Skulls

I would like to pretty please with sugar on top own all one of these spectacularly spooky skulls courtesy of Alexander McQueen.

This Leather Skull Bracelet is straight up Glamskull (yep, made that up)

This Small Enamel Skull Bracelet is easily festive for work, without being too frightful.

You know in horror movies how the killer always has some trinket that's creepy and often associated with skulls....why not scare them off with this flashy Swarovski Crystal-Embellished Skull Keyfob.  It's kind of really bad.

And of course the piece I have been dying to own for 3+ years now.  I have an extremely cheap knockoff from Marshalls that doesn't hold a candle to the original Cashmere-Blend Skull Print Scarf.  I want it so bad!  Especially since I saw this picture of Nicole Richie sporting it 2 ways.

And of course, since I am all about the shoes, I love these Python Skull Platform Pumps.  The skulls just add that perfect little 'tude.

All these skulls has me wanting to scream out "By the power of Grayskull" but perhaps I should substitute "Silverskull or Goldskull" instead?

Song Of The Week: Runaway

I will be the first to admit that I am a huge fan of Kanye West.  I have all of his albums and he is always impressing me with his new jams and beats and I can honestly say that he hasn't released a song that I don't love.

After his antics at the 2009 VMA's I was totally turned off by him.  I did however respect his apology and also that he took some time out of the spotlight.  When they announced he would be performing at the 2010 VMA's I wasn't sure what to expect or how I would feel....

Well, his performance of "Runaway [Explicit]"had me eager to purchase and listen to his tunes again.  The song is a little self-deprecating, which I think was essential for him to put out there for people to start liking him again.  I will say that I love the beat a lot, and really enjoy the chorus...
"Let’s have a toast for the douchebags!
Let’s have a toast for the assholes!
Let’s have a toast for the scumbags
Every one of them that I know

Let’s have a toast for the jerkoffs
That’ll never take work off
Baby, I got a plan
Run away fast as you can."
There is just something so catchy and true about the chorus. I downloaded the song last week and have been listening to it nonstop. Say what you will, but I am excited for him to come back with some new stuff that I most definitely will be purchasing. Also it has to be said that he is a really great performer, his 2010 VMA performance and the SNL performance above were creative and I love the addition of the ballerinas!

Are you ready for the return of Kanye? Do you like his new song? Or, do you think he still needs to crawl into his hole and stay there a little while longer?

Happy Weekend!

This weekend is supposed to be full of sunshine and heat.  I am planning to hang out with my girl Mrs. R in town from DC:

(at Septemberfest in Culver City)

Give this little munchkin lots of snuggles...

(Little Jake in town visiting from Seattle with Mom and Dad)

As well as possibly laying out by the pool and soaking up these gorgeous October rays!
Can't wait!  Cheers to your weekend ahead!!

Forever Frugal Friday

I am in desperate need of some new "lady clothes" for work.  I have been trying to mix up what I already have with different scarves, jewelry or shoes which is great and all, but I really need to add some new pieces.  I would very much like to add this Satin Rose Print Dress into my collection.  I realize that it is a bit sheer, but that could easily be fixed with a simple slip.  I love the color and the little peep hole in the back.  Great as is with some pumps, or I could also easily add a cardigan and my own skinny black belt and boots to fancy it up.

Let's Go Rhinos!

Our softball season started off a little bit shaky, but wouldn't you know it....we pulled it together and made it to the playoffs!  Tonight at 7:45 we take on a team that we have lost to already twice, but third times a charm right (knock on wood)?  I always have such a good time with my team and I am crossing my fingers that we win tonight to play again at 9:00 against the undefeated Hard Hats.

Even if we don't win our league championship, we did win our own team clover at Tom Bergins!

These little clovers are all over the ceiling of the bar and we are honored to be featured!

GO RHINOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy A

This past Sunday I headed down to Culver City with some gf's to see the film Easy A.  Even though LSpry and I were almost kicked out of the theater for sneaking in iced teas (which we ended up having to dump in the trash - damn theater security), the film did not disappoint!

First thing.  Thank goodness for one Miss Emma Stone.  She is stellar as the female lead Olive Penderghast, a witty high school student who pretends to be slutty to help misfits around her school fit in and be cool, all the while making her an outcast.  I won't give too much of the movie away, but I will tell you it has some great 80's teen comedy references, and a fantastic cast.

I was also super excited to see this film since Miss Amanda Bynes is in it.  I have loved Amanda since She's the Man and am happy that she has come out of her self imposed "retirement from acting".  She is perfect as Olive's antagonist Marianne.  Snippity and composed and perfectly bitchy.  Loved it!

I also really enjoyed (however unbelievable they were) Olive's parents, played by Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci.  They were present without being overbearing, but supportive and fun.  What I was a little surprised by was how sexy I found Stanley Tucci in this film.  He just looked super handsome?  Am I alone?  Anyone else find him attractive in this film?  Also Penn Badgley wasn't too hard on the eyes.

If you love teen comedies and have missed a strong female lead since Lindsay Lohan in Mean Girls, I really think you should get out and see Easy A.  The movie will only take up 92 minutes of your life (if anything I wanted it to go longer), and most of it you will spend laughing or smiling.

In the event you have never heard of this movie, check out the trailer below and then find a movie time at a theater closest to you.  Just make sure you don't try to sneak in a ice cold bevie.
